Death Notice of Betty Clark

Elizabeth Isabel Clark (nee Henderson), of Durham, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Thursday, October 8th, 2020 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Bruce Clark. Loving mother of Raymond Clark and his wife Donna of Durham. Cherished grandmother of Tony Case and his wife Jackie of Orangeville, Jim Case of Hamilton, Pam and her husband Danny Farrow of Dromore, and Angela and her husband Darin Schenk of Durham. Fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren Ashley and Bobby Macnab, Jordan and Sarah Case, Amy Case, Amanda Case, Travis Farrow, Alyse Farrow, Davis Schenk, and Abigail Schenk, and by her great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Jim Henderson and sister-in-law of Blanche Henderson and Maxine Swan. Predeceased by her daughter Wilma Ann Francoeur her brothers Archie Henderson, George Henderson, infant Howard Henderson, and her sisters Muriel Torry, Jean Wise, Marie Wise and Evelyn Guest-Jean. Betty Clark was fun loving, unpretentious and uncomplaining Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. Born Elizabeth Isabel Henderson to Sarah Park and William Henderson, 7th of 9 children, and raised on a farm near Hampden in Normanby Township. She spent a brief time in Toronto before marrying her husband of 67 years Bruce Clark. They farmed at Hampden and then lived in Durham where she worked for Bell Canada and Stedman's and they owned Clark's Haulage and then Saugeen Sales and Rentals. They spent many years wintering in Texas and travelling North America. She loved family events and enjoyed a mean game of Euchre even until the last few months of her 98th year. She lived a busy active life at Rockwood Terrace. She was a spark of honest humour and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at the Durham Cemetery.
