Watson, John


John William Watson, of Durham, passed away on Monday, December 14th, 2020 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Mary (nee VanCleaf). Loving father of Duane Watson and his wife Andrea. Cherished grandfather of Kurtis Watson. Dear brother of Janet Brigham and her friend Harry Groen. Also remembered by his brother-in-law Bill McClanahan. Predeceased by his sister Jean McClanahan, and by his brother Joe Watson. John worked for many years at Homestead Resort, he was passionate about his work and he enjoyed interacting with the customers. He also loved to race stock cars and was an avid fan of car racing.

Visitation:

Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home on Sunday, December 20th from 2 – 5 p.m.

Due to Covid-19 protocols masks are required, social distancing must be respected on Funeral Home property and a limited number of people will be allowed inside for visitation at one time. If you wish to attend visitation, please call the Funeral Home at 519-369-3837 or visit the death notice on the Funeral Home website (www.mccullochwatsonfuneralhome.ca) and click on the “make a reservation” to confirm your attendance.

Celebration of Life:

A private memorial service celebrating John's life will be held. Friends and extended family are welcome to view the service via live stream on Monday, December 21st at 1 p.m. by visiting the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/mccullochwatson/). Interment of cremated remains at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
