Ross Taylor

Passed away suddenly on Friday, November 14th, 2008. Robert Ross Taylor, of Durham, in his 81st year. Beloved husband for 60 years of the former Joyce Phillips. Loving father of Susan and her husband Dave Campbell of Hanover, Doug Taylor of Brampton, and Cathy and her husband Don Lantz of Holstein. Cherished grandfather of Ryan Campbell and his fiance Elisha Weishar, Justin Campbell, Wendy Taylor and her friend Mark, Tyler Lantz and his fiance Heidi Nemeth, Brady Lantz and his wife Shannon, and Jenna Lantz. Great-grandfather of Will. Dear brother of Dorothy McGillivray, Betty and her husband Len Green, and Bev Taylor and his wife Marion. Predeceased by his sons Bill and Peter, and his brothers Sandy Taylor and Russel Taylor.

Ross was a lifelong resident of Durham and was involved with many organizations. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and was a Life Member of the Kinsmen Club. He served as a Councillor for the Town of Durham and was Durham's longest standing Bingo caller. He was honoured for his community involvement by receiving the Citizen of the Year award.

A Celebration of Ross's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday morning at 11 o'clock. Cremation to follow.
