Death Notice of Louis Murphy
Louis O'Donnell Murphy, formerly of the Dundalk area, passed away peacefully at Grey Gables, Markdale on Sunday, March 20th, 2022, in his 82nd year.
He will be deeply missed by Helen, his beloved wife of 55 years, and children: Shawn (Terri) of Lake Eugenia, Colleen (Michael Ryan) of Oakham, England, and Anne (Griffin Russell) of Ladysmith, BC. Cherished grandfather to Riley (Jane), Kira (Stephen), Sebastian, Hugh, Romy Lou, Taj and Beau. Dear brother to John (Rosemary) of Hanover and Patrick (Doreen) of Orangeville. He is also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen Hoffman of Beachburg, Angela (John) McEachen of Douglas, Patrick (Clare) Ready of Cobden and Kevin Ready of Peterborough and many loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Predeceased by his loving parents, Alice and Joseph Murphy; infant son Joseph; brothers, Vincent and Thomas; sisters-in-law, Louise Murphy and Elaine Murphy; brothers-in-law, Thomas Ready and Daniel Hoffman; and his dear mother-in-law, Marina Ready.
Lou started his working life with Armbro Construction where he worked for several years before returning to take over his family farm in Proton Township. He worked for County of Grey Roads Department for 20+ years while always farming on the side, his true passion. He thoroughly enjoyed his 25 year service as a volunteer fire fighter with the Dundalk Fire Hall.
Funeral mass will take place at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Dundalk, on Monday, March 28th at 11 a.m. Masks are mandatory and we encourage you to confirm your attendance. Friends and extended family are welcome to view a recording of the service on Tuesday, March 29th at 4 p.m. by visiting the death notice on the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home website and click "watch service". The video will remain posted for viewing afterwards. Spring interment at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Southgate.
