Orville Porter

Vernon Orville Porter, of Hanover and formerly of Durham and Paisley, passed away on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023 in his 94th year. Beloved husband for 68 years to the late Laverne (nee Becker). Loving father of Linda (Brad Campbell), Carolyn (Mike Giesler), Mark Porter (Heather), and Donna (Ed Eckhardt). Cherished grandfather to be missed by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Norman Porter and his wife Lenore, and his sister Glenna McComb. Predeceased by his daughter Shirley MacIntosh, his son-in-law Allan Becker, his grandsons Adam Porter and Greg Ferguson, and his sisters Wilma Brown, and Myrtle Lawrence. 

A private graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery. Friends and families of Orville are welcome to come to the come and go celebration of Orville’s life that will be held at the Durham Legion, 271 Bruce Street North on Monday, September 11th from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to SickKids Foundation, or Saugeen Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
