Death Notice of Peggy Shaw
Margaret “Peggy” Shaw (nee Kendrick) passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Friday, February 16th, 2024, in her 93rd year. She was the beloved wife of the late Alan Shaw, and the loving mother of Robert (Jan) Shaw, Brian (Denise) Shaw, Gary (Lisa) Shaw, and David (Paula) Shaw.
Peggy was born and raised in Guelph and had a close relationship with her siblings and family. Peggy married Alan Shaw in 1953 and moved to Stratford where they raised their four sons, later moving to St. Catharines.
Peggy committed her life to her family, others, and serving her community. She worked as a bank teller and a nursing secretary and was always very involved with the Anglican church, serving in the altar guild, prayer groups, church events, as well as singing in the choir. A committed mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and woman of faith, Peggy led by example in everything she did. Her zest for life, passion for serving others, beautiful voice, and brilliant smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Cherished grandma of Matt, Kim, Jeff, Jessica, Scott, Stephanie, Brandi, Kristen, Brandon, Alison, Staci, and Keagan, and great grandma of 15 more. Predeceased by six siblings – Jim, Ted, Len, Art, Elsie, and Eleanor, and parents Alfred and Amy Kendrick. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Peggy’s life will be held at St. Columba Anglican Church in St. Catharines at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
