Maria "Ria" Gebhardt

Maria Gertrude Gebhardt (nee Buijs), formerly of RR#2 Priceville, passed away at Columbia Forest Long Term Care, Waterloo on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Werner Gebhardt. Dear sister of Dr. Henry Buijs and friend Wanda Zamora, Dr. Jane Hosdil, Dr. Joseph Buijs and his wife Roseanne, and William Buijs and partner Betty Dixon. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother John Buijs. 

Maria’s family wishes to thank Ron and Kay McManus, and Deanna and Don Foster with tremendous gratitude for assisting Maria so that she could stay in her home. Thank you to the friends and neighbours in the Durham area for welcoming Werner and Ria to the area that they loved so much. 

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Monday, March 25th from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, March 26th from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Durham on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Durham.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
