Death Notice of Janet Moore
Janet Vera (nee Wilson) Moore, of Southgate Township/Durham passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 3 days before her 83rd birthday (May 19, 1941). Beloved wife of John Moore for 62 years. Mother of Cathy (Gilles) Congourdeau, Toronto and grandmother of Chloe Congourdeau, Toronto, and Adrien (Isabel) Congourdeau, Vancouver. Mother-in-law of Sarah Moore, Corunna.
Predeceased by her son, Kevin in 2011, parents John and Eileen Wilson, and parents-in-law Clarence and Clara Moore.
Janet graduated as a Registered Nurse from KW Hospital in 1962. John and Janet moved around Ontario as John was relocated by his employer, Ontario Ministry of Environment. Janet worked at a local hospital in the Operating Room in Toronto, London, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury and Sarnia. Then they left their careers to move back to Dromore and take over the Moore Bus Lines until they retired in 1997. Janet took up her lifetime interest in sewing by making many quilts. She also volunteered at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, for over 20 years. She will be remembered by many quilting and hospital friends from near and far.
Cremation followed by a private family graveside service at Swinton Park Cemetery at a later date, as per Janet’s wishes.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Swinton Park Presbyterian Church, Amos Dromore Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
Janet expressed her gratitude for all your well wishes while she was ill.
Condolences
As we spoke at the time, and so sorry for decision, but it comes to all of us, but yes, Jesus gave us the hope of the resurrection, Rev. 21: 4, and John 11: 24. and I’m sure Janet will be in Jehovah’s memory for that time. As others have said, and I repeat, Janet was a lovely lady, talented, hospitable, and helpful. I’m sure she will be missed by all who knew her.
Cairine.
