Death Notice of Ryan Aitken
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ryan Donald Aitken, of Hanover and formerly of Mount Forest, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton on Thursday, November 14th, 2024 in his 34th year. Beloved son of Bruce and Michele (nee Clarke) Aitken. Devoted and loving father of Lilly and Layla Aitken. Dear brother of Brendon and Nikki Aitken, and Noah Aitken and Lola. Ryan will be missed by his aunts and uncles: Wayne Diebold, Kim Aitken, Tammy Aitken, Jenny and Brian Zeinstra, and Rod and Sara Aitken; and is fondly remembered by his cousins Justin and Kristina, Kayla and Josh, Tori and Chris, Jake, Olivia, Jack, Wes, Sam, and Max; his grandmother Joyce Aitken; and his grandfather Keith Askett; as well as his faithful and loyal companions Shadow and Simba. Predeceased by his grandparents Don and Goldie Clarke, grandfather Ross Aitken, and grandmother Sharon Askett, his aunt Brenda Diebold, and his uncles Brent Clarke, Rev. John Polačok and Andrew Boddy.
Ryan was a very caring and compassionate person who wore his heart on his sleeve. He would do anything to help out another person. His daughters were everything to him and his eyes would light up the room when he was with them.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Friday, November 29th from 6 – 8 p.m. A private celebration of Ryan’s life will be held.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to a trust fund for Layla Aitken (cheques payable to Bruce or Michele Aitken, or e-transfer to trustforlayla@gmail.com) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
