Joan O'Neill

Mary Joan Christine O’Neill (nee Anderson), of Durham, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late John Patrick “Jackie” O’Neill (1999). Loving mother of Mel O’Neill and his wife Brenda, Mary Lou and her husband Dean Fraser, Allan O’Neill and his wife Lorna, and Cathy and her husband David Brockhurst. Cherished grandmother of Paige, Hannah; Norah, Jessica, Dylan (Nicole), Jaclyn (Owen); Michael, and Kaitlyn. Great-grandmother of Tallan. Joan will be missed by her brother George Anderson and his wife Deane and their son Cayle; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and her special adopted family, Joe and Cherie Vasey and family. Predeceased by her parents Mel and Jean (nee Muzzerall) Anderson, 3 brothers in infancy, and son Timothy Michael (1962).

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Monday, February 3rd from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9, where a vigil prayer service will be held at 4 p.m.. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church, 384256 Concession Road 4, West Grey (Glenelg), on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Spring interment at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Chapman House (cheques payable to Grey Bruce Hospice Inc.) or St. John’s Glenelg Cemetery would be appreciated.
