Death Notice of Tom O'Dwyer
Passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011. Thomas Joseph O'Dwyer, of Durham, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Delia (Olsen) O'Dwyer. Survived by his siblings Bridie, Bernie, Pat and Harry all of Dublin, Ireland. Remembered by good friends, Marg and Amy Krauter, the Eccles, Robson and Rivest families. Predeceased by his sisters: Eileen and Jo, and his brothers: John and Michael.
Tom received the Bishop Reding Diocesan Medal of Honour in recognition of his worthy contribution to St. Peter's Catholic Church in Durham, St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Mississauga, to the Diocese of Hamilton and Archdiocese of Toronto. He served as Trustee on the Roman Catholic Separate School Boards of Toronto, Dufferin-Peel and Bruce-Grey and was an honourary life member of the Serra Club. Tom served on the board of the Durham Agricultural Society, Peel Family Services, The Safety Traffic Council of Mississauga and volunteered with many groups both in Durham and Mississauga areas.

Visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Friday morning starting at 11 a.m., where a Vigil Prayer Service and a Knights of Columbus service will be held at 12:15 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Durham on Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Rockwood Terrace or the DCHCF-Durham Medical Clinic would be appreciated by the family.
