Death Notice of Charles Vernon Koenig
October 6, 1944 - June 1, 2012. Passed away peacefully at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Friday June 1st , 2012, after a lengthy struggle with Pics Dementia. Son of the late Milton H. Koenig and the late Bertha S. Koenig of Hanover. He is survived by his wife Judi (nee Shuh) of Hanover. Also survived by son Dwight R. Koenig and his wife Lisa of Ayton and daughters Vicki and her husband Paul Gobbi of Guelph and Jackie Koenig of Hanover. He will be remembered by his seven grandchildren; Blaze Koenig of Cambridge, Carissa, Kurtis, Erika Gobbi of Guelph and Nicholas, Chelsea, Sophie Koenig of Ayton. Also survived by one brother Nelles Koenig of Hanover and three sisters, Pauline Leonard of Cambridge, Shirley Holmes of Alberta, and Sharon LaChance (Bill) of Windsor. He also leaves behind twelve nieces and nephews. Charles was the owner and operator of M.H. Koenig & Sons Ltd of Ayton, a farm machinery operation for many years until ill health. He was also the owner of Vic Manufacturing of Ayton, designing and building farm equipment such as the dump trailer and stone picker, which were widely used.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham on Tuesday, June 5th from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Peter Gibbons officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be held at the Ayton Union Cemetery.
