Ron Gilkes

Passed away at Grey Bruce Health Services - Owen Sound on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013. Ronald Cameron Gilkes, of Hanover formerly of Durham and Hopeville, in his 81st year. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Hooper). Loving father of Brent Gilkes and his wife Ellen of Durham. Cherished grandfather of Karley and her husband Jeff Rapson, and Jackie Gilkes. Great-grandfather of Phoenix. Survived by his sister Helen Jack of Meaford, his sister-in-law Marie and her husband Fred Martin of Elora, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Alex Gilkes and his wife Margaret, his sister-in-law Jean and her husband Bill Kelly, and his brother-in-law Elmer Jack.

A celebration of Ron's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Cremation to follow.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the Durham and Community Health Care Foundation (Durham Hospital) would be appreciated by the family.
