William "Bill" (1927 - 2014) Szilassy

Passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014. Bela "William" Szilassy, of Durham, in his 88th year. Beloved husband for 7 years of the late Alie Szilassy who passed away in 1965 and for 37 years of the late Kay Szilassy who passed away in 2011. Loving father of Betty Szilassy of Brazil and Margaret and Alan Krueger of Ilderton. Dear brother of Dennis Szilassy of Durham. Stepfather of Darlene and her husband Stan Doherty, Ted Hunter and his wife Brenda, and Maxine and her husband Dean Bender, all of Durham. Cherished grandfather of Annie Krueger, Kyra Krueger, Connie (Sean) MacEwan, Jennifer Hiltz, Bradley (Michelle) Doherty, Delanah (Rick) Gobio, Denise (David) Petty, Reay (Courtney) Hunter, Jason (Katie) Bender, Lanny Bender, Jimmy (Sonya) Bender, Stuart (Breanne) Bender and 24 great-grandchildren. Bill enjoyed farming in Norfolk County and Bentinck Township and was involved in the Bentinck Plowmen's Association and the Bentinck and Durham Baptist Churches.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Durham Cemetery.
