Syd Goldsmith

Sydney "Syd" Wilfred Martin Goldsmith, of Hanover and formerly of Durham and Fenelon Falls, passed away at the Hanover and District Hospital on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Olive Weaver. Dear brother of Florence Forbes (Brian), Leroy Goldsmith (Sophie), Cliff Goldsmith (Cathy) and brother-in-law of Shirley Goldsmith, Frank Weaver (June), Jack Weaver (Cathy) and Ron Weaver (Shirley). Fondly remembered by his chosen children Sharon Dyson, Joanne and the late Gene Weaver, his chosen grandchildren Scott, Sean and Stacey, his many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Eric and Sadie Goldsmith and his siblings Alwyn Goldsmith, Velma McEachnie (the late Ivan), Oliver Goldsmith, Melville Goldsmith (the late Barb), Rodger Goldsmith (the late Joyce) and Bev Goldsmith (the late Beth).

A celebration of Syd's life will be held at Knox United Church, Durham on Sunday, March 5th at 3 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 1 - 2:45 p.m. Spring interment at Fenelon Falls Cemetery.
