Marie Nixon

Virginia Lorna Marie Nixon (nee Griffin), of Durham, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Wednesday, March 8th, 2017 in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late David Nixon. Loving mother of Debbie and her husband Ted McGillivray, Faye and her husband Dan Sullivan, David Nixon and his wife Guirlande, Andy Nixon and his wife Diane, Diana and her husband Bob Sullivan and Delisa and her husband Paul Schieven all of Durham. Cherished grandmother of Jim (Jenn), Alicia, Spencer, Benjamin, Daverlee, Jenna, Jessica, Ashley, Bobby, Tyler, Kyle and Sierra and great-grandmother of 4. Dear sister of Wilma and her husband Jim Lindsay, Joan and her husband Bill MacMillan, Harold Griffin and his wife Marion, Lloyd Griffin, Joyce and her husband Terry Whiteside and Patsy and her husband Carl Kitchen. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Lorna Griffin. Cremation has taken place.

A celebration of Marie's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with visitation prior to the service from 10 - 10:45 a.m. Spring interment at Durham Cemetery.
