Isabel Atkinson

Gertrude Isabel Atkinson (nee Hastie) of Durham passed away at Rockwood Terrace on Monday, July 31st, 2017 at 87 years of age. Isabel was a passionate nurse, a talented baker, a dedicated volunteer at the Royal Canadian Legion, and the beloved wife of the late Lloyd Alexander (Kelly) Atkinson. Loving mother of Jim Atkinson of Calgary, Stephen Atkinson and wife Barbara Devonshire of Toronto, and Peggy McCormick (deceased) and husband Bruce McCormick. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Christina and Stephanie Atkinson and Kelly Gonzalez, husband Roberto Gonzalez, and great-grandchildren Joaquin, Valentino, and Benicio. Dear sister of Shirley Ferrier and sister-in-law of Darlene Hastie. Predeceased by her siblings Bill Hastie, Graham Hastie, and Joy Murphy.

A celebration of Isabel's life will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
