Death Notice of Ken Jacobs
Passed away suddenly in a tragic accident on Monday, July 16th, 2007. Roy Kenneth Jacobs was born in Milverton on November 30, 1935 to the late Roy Peter Jacobs and Jane Eliza (Blair) and was raised on the family farm.
He was a loving husband for 33 years to his wife Joan (Shaw) and he is survived by his daughters, Janet Jacobs and Cindy (Calvin) Ehgoetz and their mother Audrey Quast. Cherished grandfather of Candace and Nicole Ehgoetz. Dear brother of Donna Murphy. Stepfather of Kim Foster (Kevin) and Craig Foster (Jo). Grandfather of Conor, Hal and Maggie. Brother-in-law of Bette Shaw and Stewart (Sheila) Shaw. Predeceased by his brother Frank Malcolm Jacobs. Ken will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Ken moved to Stratford as a young man and served 35 years with the Stratford P.U.C. Ken and Joan retired to Durham, "God's Country", in 1992 so he could build their dream home, Leatherwood Ranch, and do all the things he loved. His love of the outdoors and wildlife was reflected in all his wood carvings, leatherwork and the numerous things he created. He was an active member of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, South Grey Hunters Association, Ducks Unlimited and the Royal Canadian Legion in Durham. He was so proud of recently shooting his 1st wild turkey!
