Osie Shanks

Osborne Edward Shanks, of RR#1 Williamsford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Neville Angela (nee Pope). Loving father of Naomi MacGregor, Tammy Coulter and her husband Dave, the late Kathy Shanks, and David Shanks and his partner Beirong Xiong. Fondly remembered by his 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and by loving nieces and nephews. Dear brother of Bette Cumpton. Predeceased by his siblings Kay Turner, Stanley Shanks and Jack Shanks, and by his dear friend and partner Vi Bland and remembered by her sons Lance and Chris. A veteran of WWII, Osborne was a motorcycle dispatch rider for three years with the Canadian Army. He was the founder of the Canadian Sidecar Owners Club.

Cremation has taken place. Interment of cremated remains at Lakeview Cemetery, Meaford, ON. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
