Evelyn Patterson

Evelyn Mae Patterson (nee Aljoe) of Kitchener, and formerly of Durham, passed away peacefully at Forest Heights Long Term Care, Kitchener, on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020 in her 97th year. Evelyn was born in Toronto on May 3rd, 1923 and was the eldest child of the late Lorne and Helen Aljoe of Durham. Beloved wife of the late James Edgar (Ed) Patterson of Durham who predeceased her in 1973. Survived by her son Jason Patterson and his wife Carole, and grandson Bryce Patterson. Caring sister of Helen Smith, Doreen Fryer, Ada and her husband Harry Styles, Beatrice and her husband Hartmut Ridderbusch and Sharon Burgess. Predeceased by her sisters Norma Barrett and Lorna Zaduk, brothers Vernon, William, Arthur and Murray Aljoe, sister-in-law Isabelle Aljoe and brothers-in-law Bill Zaduk and Dave Burgess. Evelyn will be remembered for her love and support of family and a strong faith that helped her greatly throughout her life.

A funeral service celebrating Evelyn's life will be held at the Durham Presbyterian Church, 205 Lambton Street East, Durham on Monday at 11 a.m. Spring interment at Durham Cemetery.
