Vern Brown

Vernon Roy Brown, of Durham, passed away at Chapman House, Owen Sound on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Elva (nee Ashley). Loving father of Heather and her husband Josh Emsley, and the late Jerry Brown. Proud grandfather of Cody Altman, Serena Altman, William Emsley, Elissa Emsley, Reilly Brown, and Abbie Brown and great-grandfather of Marie Johnson. Brother-in-law of Norman and Mary Ashley. Fondly remembered by his daughter-in-law Trisha Brown and by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandson Tarin Brown, and his siblings Reta Black, Elmer Brown, Hattie Braun, Roberta Sherman, Mel Brown, Stan Brown, and John Brown.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Vern's life will be held at the Durham Legion on Saturday, August 8th, 2020 at 11 a.m. (there will be no visitation prior to the service). Due to Covid-19 protocols masks are required, social distancing must be respected on Durham Legion property and a limited number of people will be able to attend the service.
