Lorne Harris

Lorne Murray Harris passed away at Country Lane Nursing Home, Chatsworth on Friday, December 24th, 2021 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee McColl). Father of Daryl Harris and Karl Harris. Dear brother of Lloyd Harris and his wife Gloria, Doug Harris and his wife Vanda, David Harris and his wife Janis, and Dawna and her husband Tom Miller. Also remembered by Joan's daughters, Paula Sundquist and Catherine Hampson. Lorne was born on June 4, 1936 in Manitoba, eldest son of the late Walter and Elsie Harris. Lorne was raised in Larder Lake, Northern Ontario before moving to Durham as a young man. Lorne had a lifelong career in construction, working as a crusher operator in various areas of Ontario. He retired to Wilberforce, Ontario where he and his wife Joan enjoyed many years of living the northern life. For health reasons, Lorne resided at Country Lane Nursing Home in Chatsworth, Ontario, where he received excellent care.

Cremation. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date at the Kincardine Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Owen Sound Animal Shelter would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
